Common Questions
Why is identification slow or failing?
HookID requires an internet connection to identify fish. If your phone has weak signal, identification can take longer or time out. Try a clearer photo with the fish centered in frame and good lighting.
Are the regulations always current?
Regulation data is sourced from publicly available FWC information and is updated periodically. You are solely responsible for verifying current regulations at myfwc.com before keeping any fish.
Where is my catch journal data stored?
Your catch journal lives entirely on your device. It is never uploaded to any server. If you uninstall the app or delete its data, those entries are gone — please export anything important before doing so.
How do I delete my data?
Open the app, go to Settings, and tap "Delete all my data." If you've already uninstalled, see the delete-account page.

- What happened, and what you expected to happen
- The species name (if reporting a missing species)
- Your device model and OS version
- Screenshots if possible
